BiPoCo 2018 Publication opportunities

publicationAll participants with an oral or poster presentation are invited to submit contributions to a Special Section on “Natural polymers and bio-inspired & smart macromolecular materials” of European Polymer Journal (EPJ). EPJ is published by Elsevier and acts as a medium for the exchange of research results in the area of macromolecular substances, both synthetic and natural, and publishes results bearing on the physics or chemistry of polymers. The impact factor of the journal increased from 2.517 (2010) to 3.531 (2016). Special issues on bio-based macromolecular materials were published in EPJ [Eur. Polym. J. 49, 1146-1286 (2013), Eur. Polym. J. 68, 481-696 (2015), Eur. Polym. J. 93, 612-849 (2017)] also after the previous BiPoCo conferences. The papers of the first special issue have been cited more than 500 times (more than 30 citations per paper on average), while the second special issue gained so far 160 citations (an average of 8 citations per paper). Some papers are still in the top 25 of the most downloaded articles of the journal  (http://www.journals.elsevier.com/european-polymer-journal/most-downloaded-articles/):

The forthcoming special section will include a few invited feature and review articles and original research papers in the field of the conference. All submitted papers will undergo the standard rigorous peer review process of the journal. Manuscripts can be submitted through the website of the journal from August 1 until September 30, 2017. The deadline will be strictly enforced to meet the publication schedule. In the cover letter the authors must indicate that the paper was presented at BiPoCo 2018. Final decision will be made on all manuscripts by January 31, 2019.

Submission deadline: September 30, 2018
Acceptance deadline: January 31, 2019
Guest editors: Benjámin Gyarmati, Béla Pukánszky
Overseeing Editor: G. J. Vancso
